What you won't find

Ste. Anne's Skin Nourishment is made without the use of:
  • Petrochemicals Chemical products derived from petroleum
  • PEGs/PPG Cancer link; reproductive, developmental and organ system toxicity; skin, eyes and lung sensitizers; can instigate immune system response that can include itching, burning, scaling, hives, and blistering of skin; Penetration enhancer: alter(s) skin structure, allowing other chemicals to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing the amounts of other chemicals that reach the bloodstream.
  • Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play a role in the development of breast cancers. There is increasing evidence that the rising incidence of breast cancer is linked in part to the fact that parabens have been found in breast cancer tumours. As well, declining sperm counts and increasing rates of male breast cancer and testicular cancer could possibly be related to the fact that these chemicals can be absorbed into our skin, potentially disrupting our endocrine systems.
  • Phthalates Known as endocrine disruptors because they mimic the bodys hormones and have, in laboratory animal tests, been shown to cause reproductive and neurological damage.
  • Mineral Oil Acts as a thin layer on the skin. It is difficult to absorb and clogs the pores, which slows the skins ability to eliminate toxins. Remember, the skin is the bodys largest organ and plays an important role in maintaining overall health!
  • SLS - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
You will find these ingredients in almost all cleansers that foam. These chemicals are even used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers. Research indicates that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate causes inflammation of the skin and can weaken the immune system. Young eyes may not develop properly if exposed to SLS because proteins are dissolved. Be especially alert for these ingredients in Baby Shampoo.
  • Phosphates Among other things, phosphates are notorious for promoting algae blooms and similar, aquatic life-snuffing stunts.
  • Synthetic dyes
  • Synthetic fragrances
  • Synthetic preservatives
  • Artificial colors
  • Animal testing
